Print, weed, transfer-tape, install.

A narrated walkthrough of how a Lobby Vinyl piece — direct-mount logo or full-wall mural — gets printed on cast vinyl, weeded, transfer-taped, and wet-applied panel-by-panel. The full-wall mural workflow is the same as direct-mount vinyl, scaled up.

  • 3M IJ180Cv3 cast film, UV printed at 150–300 dpi
  • Matte or satin laminate, near-invisible 1/2″ seams
  • Bubble-free install warranty

How it's built

Cast vinyl, high-res print, matte laminate, seamless panels.

The artwork is sized to your exact wall dimensions and tiled into panels 48–54″ wide. Each panel is printed on 3M IJ180Cv3 cast vinyl using a wide-format UV or eco-solvent printer — the same film used for exterior vehicle wraps, so it lasts. A 3M 8520 matte laminate goes over the print to protect against UV yellowing, cleaning products, and incidental scuffs. Panels install in sequence with a 1/2″ overlap seam that disappears into the image at normal viewing distance.

01 · Print substrate

3M Ij180Cv3 or Avery Mpi 1105

Conformable cast vinyl, 2.0 mil face film. Designed to lie flat on large wall surfaces without bubbles or lifting at edges. Repositionable adhesive allows minor adjustments during install.

02 · Print

High-res photographic or vector

Output at 150–300 dpi at full scale. Photo-quality for photography-based murals; vector output for brand art and type-heavy murals with crisp edges at any size.

03 · Laminate

3M 8520 matte or 8519 satin

Matte laminate is the indoor standard — no glare under office lighting, fingerprint-resistant, and cleanable with a damp cloth. Satin gives a slight sheen for photography-heavy murals.

04 · Install seams

Overlapped 1/2″, near-invisible

Panels are overlapped by 1/2″ and the seam is positioned to fall in a low-contrast area of the image. Under normal lighting at normal viewing distance, seams are not visible.

Colors & finishes

Full-color photographic, brand colors, or designed artwork.

There's no palette limitation — the mural reproduces exactly what's in the file. The three considerations are art direction (what the mural shows), laminate sheen (matte vs. satin), and Pantone matching if the mural includes brand-critical color fields.

Art direction options

We can work from your supplied art or help develop the concept. Complexity of design affects the design-coordination fee, not the print price.

  • Customer-supplied artwork — print-ready file (PDF, AI, TIFF) at correct dimensions. No design fee.
  • Brand-color abstract — gradient or geometric design developed from your brand palette. $145 design fee.
  • Photography-based mural — licensed photography or brand-owned photography, formatted and color-graded. $185 design fee.
  • Custom illustrated mural — original illustration or hand-drawn style developed with our studio. Custom quote.

Laminate sheen

Both options use 3M-certified overlaminates. Matte is the default recommendation for most office and hospitality installations.

Pantone matching

For murals with solid brand-color blocks or text, Pantone-matched output ensures the color is correct under the facility's lighting conditions. Available on request at no additional charge for standard setup; custom ICC profiling is $95 extra.

  • Standard Cmyk — covers 85–90% of Pantone spectrum; adequate for photography
  • Pantone-guided output — soft-proof to your Pantone number before final print

Sizes & pricing

Any wall up to 60″ wide per panel, any length.

Pricing is per square foot of finished mural area, installed. The $385 minimum covers a single feature wall up to about 8×6 feet. Larger walls are priced straight at the per-sqft rate with no premium. Includes a site visit to measure and template the wall before printing.

Wall prepLevel 5 finish requiredTextured walls (knockdown, orange peel) need a smooth primer coat or smooth-skin overlay panel first — quoted separately.

Application

Three wall conditions, three application protocols.

The vinyl is the same regardless of wall condition. What changes is the surface preparation and adhesion approach. We assess the wall condition before finalizing the order and include any prep recommendations in the quote.

Smooth-wall application

Level 5 finish drywall (flat-skim coat). The ideal substrate — vinyl goes down bubble-free and edges adhere perfectly. Standard pricing; no prep surcharge.

Lightly textured wall

Knockdown or orange-peel texture. A smooth primer coat flattens the texture enough for vinyl adhesion. Primer is typically $1.50/sqft additional and is included in the site-survey quote.

Brick or block wall

Requires a smooth-skin overlay panel (PVC or DiBond) mounted to the masonry first. Adds cost and installation time but delivers a perfect surface and allows future mural replacement without touching the masonry.

  • Brewery tap rooms, restaurant feature walls, bar back-walls
